Some of the main initiatives include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Funding of innovative projects<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has allocated \u20ac12.15 million to finance 23 innovative projects in the agri-food sector. These projects, to be implemented until March 2025, focus on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Innovation in agriculture, livestock, forestry, and the agri-food industry<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promoting the sector\u2019s twin digital and environmental transition<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Areas such as crop production, animal production, forestry, and the food industry<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Agri-food PERTE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Strategic Project for the Recovery and Economic Transformation of the agri-food sector (Agri-food PERTE) has been established to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Support the sector&#8217;s sustainable economic growth<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promote digitalization of the agri-food chain<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Foster territorial cohesion<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide funding and tools to address environmental, digital, social, and economic challenges<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Specific lines of action<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Three main lines of action have been established for granting aid:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Research, development, and innovation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Innovation in sustainability and energy efficiency<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Investment for SMEs<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>These aids are granted in the form of loans and subsidies, aimed at boosting industrial projects to transform the agri-food value chain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">National Food Strategy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The government has presented the National Food Strategy, which aims to promote a food system that is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Safe<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sustainable<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Healthy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Competitive<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Socially fair<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This strategy focuses on six main challenges: food security, sustainability, strengthening of rural and coastal areas, healthy eating, innovation and technology, and consumers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Promotion of the circular bioeconomy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a growing emphasis on the circular bioeconomy as a means to achieve a more efficient, competitive, and sustainable agri-food production.
